Hi, my name is Kara. I am a fantasy writer and world building enthusiast.
My oldest writing memory is a definitely-not-awful poem about an Ancient Egyptian mummy travelling to the afterlife. I was a strange child.
I mostly write fantasy and I think the love of it started right back when I was learning about Ancient Egypt in primary school. This was a civilisation that was just so different, so unique. It allowed me to escape into my own little world.
Escaping into my own world
I love fantasy because it allows me to escape into a world far more interesting than this one. A world where anything is possible.
My aim is to recreate that feeling for someone else with my work.
I’m currently working on a fantasy series, set in a world I’ve created. So, I’ll be blogging about fantasy, world building, my process, experiences and inspiration.
If you’re a fellow fantasy writer or reader, head over to my Build a Fantasy World section, where hopefully you’ll find something of interest or help.
Real life
When I’m not living in a fantasy world, I’m a content writer by day. I do occasionally post about real life things too, so watch out for them if you’re interested in learning more about content writing and content marketing in general.
When I’m not busy scribbling away, I’m itching to go travelling. Travelling inspires new ideas and broadens the mind – which makes it great for writers (fiction or otherwise).
Feel free to get in touch for a chat about all things fiction or copywriting.

Should You Use Multi POV in Your Fantasy Novel?
Multi-POV, or multiple point of view storytelling has been around for a long time and a lot of people either love it or hate it. It’s been particularly popular since A Song of Ice and Fire and it seems pretty common in the fantasy genre as a whole. But should you go...
How Fantasy Fiction Can Help Mental Illness
It was recently World Mental Health Day and there has been plenty of content out there regarding mental illness and spreading awareness. I thought I’d throw in my thoughts too. Funnily enough, the reason this post was delayed and didn't come out around actual Mental...
